Electronic Cigarettes

E-cigarettes are battery-operated devices used to inhale nicotine and other chemicals.

E-cigarettes do not contain tobacco, but many contain varying levels of nicotine, which is the addictive chemical found in tobacco products.

They are not currently regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. There is no way for consumers to know what types or concentrations of potentially harmful chemicals are found in e-cigs or how much nicotine they are inhaling. There is no conclusive scientific evidence that electronic cigarettes are effective in helping people stop smoking.
